Growing Census

Our overall participant census kept climbing, reaching 646 participants in July — up from 612 a year prior — continuing the steady upward trend at both the Springfield and Newton centers.

Quality Improvement

Enrollment and disenrollment trends were tracked closely across both sites, with Newton disenrollments trending down over the past year. Falls without injury in Springfield fell to 8.7% after holding near 14% for several quarters, then ticked back up to 12.4% in the most recent quarter. Grievances per 100 participants trended downward overall at both centers, though Newton saw a slight uptick in its most recent quarter. ER visits and hospital admission rates were monitored closely, with Newton ER visits reaching 10.9% in May before easing back to 4.38% by June.

I-SAT Satisfaction Survey

Serenity Care received a 100% satisfaction rating in Transportation and Behavioral Wellness, 98% in Social Work, and 96% in Medical Care — continuing to meet or exceed state and national benchmarks. Transportation, Behavioral Wellness, Social Work, Medical Care, Rehabilitation Services, and Health Care Specialists remain organizational strengths.

Participant Satisfaction vs. National & MassPACE

Our June 2026 quality indicators show Serenity Care outperforming the national average, with a 91% overall satisfaction score matching MassPACE’s overall score and topping the national average of 87.5%. Transportation led the way at 100%, well above the 93% national and MassPACE averages.
